Caged No More: A Film Raising Awareness About Human Trafficking

There have been many faith-based films and tv projects over the last few years, including films like War Room, God’s Not Dead, A.D. The Bible Continues, and others. Few deal with as serious a topic as a film that opens nationwide today. Caged No More is an entertaining feature film that will raise awareness of human trafficking, aid in connecting anti-trafficking organizations, equip parents, schools and churches to aid in prevention, and assist in eradicating trafficking altogether. The film stars Kevin Sorbo, Emmy-Award winner Loretta Devine, Alan Powell, and Cassidy Gifford with appearances by Kathie Lee Gifford, Gov. Bobby Jindal and Natalie Grant.

Inspired by real events, Caged No More is the story of Aggie Prejean, a grandmother on a desperate search to find her two granddaughters, Skye and Elle, who have been kidnapped by their sinister father. As the details behind the girls’ disappearance begin to unravel, it’s discovered he has taken them overseas to be sold into slavery to settle his drug debt. Aggie enlists the help of the girls’ uncle, a well-respected local philanthropist, and his son Wil, who is former Special Forces. A global hunt ensues, and the team will stop at nothing to see the girls safely returned home.

Caged No More is a drama meant to engage and educate audiences on the realities of human trafficking. The film releases in theaters nationwide today. You can see where its playing in a theater near you at cagednomoremovie.com. Check out the trailer and some behind the scenes clips below.

I recently had the opportunity to chat with the Director of Caged No More, Lisa Arnold in conjunction with the DVD release of the film. Lisa is actress, producer and director. She is the president of Check the Gate Productions. She wrote, directed and produced the award winning films This is Our Time and Letting Go, and produced God’s Not Dead, Christmas Angel, Flywheel and others. Carl Barnhill has served on staff at some of the largest churches and organizations in the country. He served as Media Director at Precept Ministries International, directing the television and radio program Precepts for Life with Kay Arthur, broadcasted to over 98 million homes around the world. He served as Video Production Director at Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS, where he produced media content for four campuses, as well as led volunteer teams.

He most recently served as Video Coordinator for Newspring Church in South Carolina. Newspring has 10 campuses across the state with a weekly attendance of over 35,000. At one campus alone, the number of consistent volunteers serving in media production tripled, under his leadership.

He currently serves as Creative Director and Owner of [twelve:thirty]media, a company that serves churches and ministries all over the world through motion graphics content and church media coaching.
