The movie FACING DARKNESS is coming to select theaters for a one-night only event on Thursday, March 30th.
This movie is intense, but a powerful look at the miracles of God. A great film to take your volunteers to or to encourage them to support.

About the Film:
In July 2014, Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol received a death sentence. They were medical missionaries—Kent with international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse and Nancy with SIM—working in ELWA Hospital in Liberia. As they fought a surging epidemic of the killer virus Ebola, a crisis the world largely ignored, Kent and Nancy caught the disease themselves.
The team at Samaritan’s Purse worked around the clock toward the only hope for Brantly and Writebol. It was something that had never been done—evacuate the Ebola patients to the U.S. for treatment and cure.

About Dr. Kent Brantly:
In 2013, Dr. Kent Brantly traveled to Liberia to serve with World Medical Mission, the medical arm of Samaritan’s Purse, as a post-resident physician. After contracting the Ebola virus in summer 2014, he was evacuated to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Brantly made headlines again in December 2014 when Time magazine named Ebola fighters its “Person of the Year.” The magazine released five covers, each featuring a different Ebola caregiver, including Dr. Brantly, explaining the five represented those who were dedicated to treating and curing the disease. Dr. Brantly and his wife, Amber, are the authors of the book, Called for Life: How Loving Our Neighbor Led Us Into the Heart of the Ebola Epidemic, in which they share the story of how their calling to serve others turned into a life or death battle during the worst outbreak of the deadly virus in history.
About Producer Bill Coger:
Bill Coger is an award-winning editor, having garnered Regional Emmy Awards, Silver and Bronze Telly awards, as well as several National Religious Broadcaster awards over a career spanning more than 30 years. He started in the television industry as a camera operator and later became a producer/editor for a nationally syndicated TV program. He went on to work for a CW TV network in Cleveland as an editor and producer. In the early 1990s, he started a production facility for a marketing agency in Ohio using the early Avid editing systems. In 1998, he joined Samaritan’s Purse as an editor and over the course of 18 years with the organization, worked to become the vice president of a team of more than 30 production staff, including award-winning producers and editors, visual effects artists, and videographers. He presides over all media buying, production, and post-production decisions for the ministry.

Carl Barnhill has served on staff at some of the largest churches and organizations in the country. He served as Media Director at Precept Ministries International, directing the television and radio program Precepts for Life with Kay Arthur, broadcasted to over 98 million homes around the world. He served as Video Production Director at Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS, where he produced media content for four campuses, as well as led volunteer teams.
He most recently served as Video Coordinator for Newspring Church in South Carolina. Newspring has 10 campuses across the state with a weekly attendance of over 35,000. At one campus alone, the number of consistent volunteers serving in media production tripled, under his leadership.
He currently serves as Creative Director and Owner of[twelve:thirty]media, a company that serves churches and ministries all over the world through motion graphics content and church media coaching.
